Or  you can go to Dr Ford's eClinic

We have set up the eClinic for people who are unable to see Dr Ford (for geographical and/or financial reasons).  The concept is to give you Dr Ford's specific paediatric advice through this webpage.

It is unique and easy.  When you have got your “Allergy eReport” (Dr Ford's interpretation of your symptoms), then you can take it to your own doctor.  This will assist you to get more accurate diagnosis and treatment of your problems.  You also return to the eClinic to get interpretation of your allergy and blood test results.  The eClinic lets you get his expert medical help, on-line, to help solve your allergy problems.

Dr Ford says that he has put his brain on the web.

Missed appointments

We have a policy about missed appointments.  If a patient fails to attend without giving at least 24 hours notice, then a charge for the full appointment fee will be made (unless this appointment slot can be filled).

All appointment times are valuable and scarce.  We have a high demand for appointments.  When someone fails to arrive, this means that someone else will miss out on being seen.  If possible, we will ring you a day or so before to confirm your appointment time.

Most people are unaware of their allergies

Allergies affect about 25% of the population.  But, did you know that there are no special “allergy symptoms”.

  • Symptoms are just symptoms – people feel unwell, have sneezing, runny noses, itchy skin, headaches, mood changes, sore tummies, diarrhoea ... etc.  These are how we feel.
  • Then these symptoms have to be attributed to some cause.  Most medical practitioners look for an infectious cause – usually “a virus”.  But the symptoms of allergy are identical!

The Allergy Centre is dedicated to helping you find out if you have an allergy that might be causing your symptoms.  This is achieved by questionnaires, an interview, skin prick testing and blood tests.

Both children and adults.

The Allergy Centre sees both adults and children.  Adults are seen on Mondays by Dr Laura Day

Please call the office for an appointment: Christchurch (03) 352-4141.

If you  have symptoms on “The Big List”, then an allergy is likely.
