Gluten not needed in diet |
Daniel Papcke, Germany, interviewed me for his webpage. http://www.mind-healing.org/whatisgluten.html (1 hour). This gives my current views on gluten and health. In a nutshell, gluten is a potentially harmful protein which is not necessary in our diets – the gluten-free alternative grains are healthier. Do Have a listen when you have the time. Cheers Dr Rodney Ford. |

Daniel is a sailor. He travels the world. But he had long standing tummy and skin problems which have interfered with his work.
He writes:
- “Hello Dr Ford, I do feel a lot better for staying away from gluten. My hands are getting better every day and my cardiovascular system seems to be working more efficiently as well. I look forward to the coming months when I am fully clean of gluten. Which leads me to my question: are there anyways to help the process of expelling gluten from my body? Or is it just a case of staying off gluten and it will move out over time the natural way? I would like to thank you for your help and I realize how lucky I was to come across you whilst in Christchurch.”
The messages:
- Gluten makes a lot of people ill. Daniel had been having symptoms for years, he had tried all sorts of cures, but gluten-sensitivity had never been tested for.
- He is already feeling better after just 2 weeks. He already has a sense of wellbeing (feels better in his heart).
- He wants to rid himself of gluten toxicity as soon as possible. This is a matter of eating healthy (vegetables, fruit, fish, some meat, some dairy (if tolerated) and not too much grains). Also taking a probiotic and vitamin/mineral supplements will help.
It is wonderful to be helping people around the globe. Cheers, Dr Rodney Ford.

Brain and nerves can bear brunt of gluten damage |
Gluten can cause neurological disease. The medical evidence, gathered over the last 20 years, is compelling. It is the brain, rather than the gut, that bears the brunt of gluten–related illnesses. This research is presented in The Lancet Neurology, March 2010 edition, by Mario Hadjivassiliou and his team: “Gluten sensitivity: from gut to brain.” Lancet Neurol. 2010 Mar; 9(3):318-30. - this is the link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20170845
